Robert G. Jennings, CFA
Robert Jennings established Jennings Capital in 1993, as an independent investment firm providing mid-size corporations with research, corporate finance and sales services in both the national and international marketplace.
Rob’s 30 years of experience in the investment business began in 1968, when he joined the Research Department of McLeod Young Weir. From 1969 to 1974, he served as a Pipeline Analyst and then Senior Petroleum Analyst, attending National Energy Board hearings and appearing as a witness before the Alberta Public Utilities Board. From 1976 to 1978, Rob was Vice President in charge of corporate finance for Alberta. He created “flow-through shares” as a financing method for the Canadian market place. In January 1979, he created a boutique firm, Carson Jennings & Associates, which dealt in private placements and merger / acquisition markets. In September 1988, Rob sold the firm to Walwyn Stodgell Ltd., which then took over Midland Doherty and he accepted the position of Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate and Government Finance for Western Canada with Midland Walwyn Capital Inc. He remained in this position until August 1993, when he founded Jennings Capital Inc. in Calgary.
Rob has served, and or, continues to serve on numerous boards of directors; including Encal Energy Ltd., Summit Resources Limited, Western Financial Group Inc., Avalon Resources Ltd., Tercero Energy Inc., Market Regulatory Services Inc. (R.S.), Chairman of the National Advisory Committee (NAC) of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, Member of the Endowment Fund Policy Committee for the Alberta Government and Chairman of the Calgary Prostate Cancer Foundation.
